Many of us color for several reasons. We color to express ourselves, or to relax after a long day or to de-stress. When we try to relax when coloring, we have to remember that no matter why we color, it’s simply the process of coloring itself that we enjoy. There are many ways to relax, but when it comes to coloring, we asked several people and this is what many of them said:
Relax When Coloring: Listen
Listening to music while coloring has to be one of the simplest ways to relax when coloring. People listen to many different styles of music from adult alternative, trance, celtic metal, big band, country, jazz, meditation mantras and more. Now you don’t have to listen to all the different genres of music but you can always listen to music you like that helps you calm down. The other thing that some people enjoy listening to is Audio Books. They’re able to do 2 things at once that helps them relax when coloring.
Relax When Coloring: Go Outdoors
There’s nothing like taking your coloring book to a nice park or a beach and coloring into the sunset. Just by being outdoors, you’re able to calm your body down and breathe in the fresh air. Sometimes, you don’t have the option of going outdoor and coloring, whether it’s for a physical reason or climate (when it snows). During then, you can open the blinds and listen to nature sounds from the park through several videos (such as this). This is help you be calm and relax.
Relax When Coloring: Abstract
Coloring is fun no matter what types of designs you enjoy coloring, but coloring abstract designs helps your mind relax. When you color abstract designs (such as Monthly Coloring Club pages) it helps you to not focus on specific objects, but rather helps your mind wander. This allows your brain to go into a state that helps you relax when coloring.
